Saffron, Measured Against the Standard

The botanical that went head-to-head with chlorhexidine and held its ground.

Contains Crocus sativus extract. In a randomized trial in patients with generalized periodontitis, an aqueous saffron mouthwash showed comparable improvement to chlorhexidine across gingival index, probing depth and bleeding index over four weeks.

RCT (Rashidi Maybodi 2022)

Crocin and Crocetin, the Compounds Behind It

The reason saffron shows up in research at all.

Saffron extract contains crocin and crocetin, carotenoid compounds studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity in the pharmacology literature.

Review, mechanism (Pitsikas 2021)

Sodium Hyaluronate for Gingival Health

The ingredient that beat regular toothpaste in a controlled trial.

A 0.2% high-molecular-weight sodium hyaluronate formulation improved gingival health measures against a standard fluoride toothpaste in a randomized trial. Hyaluronic acid gel has separately been studied as an adjunct in post-surgical gingival wound healing.

RCTs (Axe 2024, Yakout 2023)

Built to Survive the Light Cycle

A rinse is gone in thirty seconds. This is still there at minute ten.

PVP and hydroxyethylcellulose make the gel film-forming and viscous enough to stay on the tooth and gum surface for a full session rather than washing away. Those are vehicle ingredients with no independent gum-health claim, and that is exactly the job they are doing.

The science behind OraLux

Your receding gums are just the effect of something deeper/more hidden...

Receding gum line, close up

[01] Why this is happening

Your gums aren't rotting. They're sagging.

Your gums are built on collagen, the same scaffold that holds up the skin on your face. After about fifty, collagen production drops sharply. The scaffold weakens, the tissue loses its grip, and it slides down.

Long teeth. Dark triangles. Bleeding. Deeper pockets. Those aren't five problems, they're one collapse at five different stages.

"This collapse has a name. It's called OCC - Oral Collagen Collapse."

Sagging collagen is not a dead end. Dermatology has been firming it for twenty years. It simply never got applied to the mouth.

[02] How it works

Red calms it & infrared helps rebuild it. Miss either one, and nothing happens.

630nm · Red light

Calms inflammation that destroys new collagen before it can take hold.

850nm · Near-infrared

Reaches deeper, signalling the dormant cells that build collagen back to work.

The field is called photobiomodulation. It has fifty years of research behind it and twenty years of routine use in dermatology. What's new here isn't the science, it's that someone finally pointed it at your gums.

Dental consultation

[03] The moment people tell us about

She stopped mid-cleaning and asked me: 'What have you been doing differently?'

This is the story we hear most often, and it arrives almost word for word. Someone starts using OraLux, says nothing to anyone, and goes to their next cleaning. The hygienist starts calling out the numbers, and the numbers are smaller. Then she stops.

Nobody plans it. It's just the first time somebody else confirms what you'd started to suspect in the mirror.

"Nine teeth measuring 4s. After two months on OraLux, every 4 became a 3. My hygienist stopped mid-cleaning and asked what I'd been doing differently."

Gum line before and after sixty days

What to expect, honestly

Healing your gums with science.

Gum tissue works on its own clock and it is slower than anyone selling you something would like it to be. This is the real sequence — and it's why the guarantee runs ninety days rather than thirty.

Weeks 1–2

Inflammation settles

Tenderness eases. Bleeding slows, then stops.

Weeks 3–4

Color shifts

From angry red toward a healthy pink.

Weeks 4–6

Firmness

The tissue feels dense and tight again, and teeth that felt loose feel anchored.

Days 45–60

The gum line itself

Sitting fuller and higher, dark triangles beginning to close, less root showing.

Results

Results after just 2 months of OraLux

Same lighting, same angle, sixty days apart. No filters, no dental work in between.

Gum line result, first customerDay 1Day 60

"I stopped covering my mouth"

"I'd been watching the gum line drop for years, longer teeth, dark triangles, the whole picture. By week four the tissue felt firmer than it had in a decade. Day sixty I took a photo next to my day-one photo and cried. Less root showing, triangles closing. My daughter noticed before I said anything."

"My hygienist stopped mid-cleaning"

"Nine teeth measuring 4s, one 5. Cleanings every three months, out of pocket for two of them. After two months on OraLux, every single 4 became a 3. My hygienist stopped mid-cleaning and asked what I'd been doing differently. First time in six years the numbers went the right direction."

Gum line result, third customerDay 1Day 60

"I bought it to prove it was a scam"

"I'd tried everything, special toothpastes, softer brushes, oil pulling, three different mouthwashes. Nothing. I ordered OraLux fully expecting to use the guarantee. Bleeding stopped at week two. By week six my gums felt firm instead of spongy. I never sent that refund email."

Carol, 58Verified buyer

Results vary. Some people see the gum line move by day forty-five, for others it takes longer, and for a few it doesn't move at all, which is what the ninety-day guarantee is for.

What is the Gel, and do I need the device to use it?

GumRevive™ Gel is a saffron-based oral gel, 3 pens per box at 4ml each, meant to be applied before your GumRevive light session. It's a topical companion, not a standalone product: the red light spectrum from the device is what activates it.

What does the science actually say?

Saffron extract (Crocus sativus) contains crocin and crocetin, carotenoid compounds studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. In a randomized trial on patients with generalized periodontitis, an aqueous saffron mouthwash produced improvements in gingival index, probing depth, and bleeding index comparable to chlorhexidine, the gold-standard antiseptic rinse (Rashidi Maybodi et al., 2022). Sodium hyaluronate in the formula improved gingival health measures against a standard fluoride toothpaste in a separate randomized trial (Axe et al., 2024), and xylitol has shown dose-dependent reductions in oral bacteria linked to plaque in multiple randomized trials. That's three independently studied actives working through three different mechanisms, activated by the same red light spectrum your device already runs. This is not a fragrance-and-filler gel with a marketing story bolted on.

Will this cure my gingivitis or stop my gums from bleeding?

No, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. The Gel and the GumRevive™ device are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent gingivitis or any periodontal disease. What the ingredients are shown to support is gum comfort, calmer tissue, and appearance, consistent with the clinical literature cited above. If you have diagnosed gum disease, see a dentist.

How do I use it?

Rinse your mouth briefly with warm water, apply a small amount to your teeth and gums, then run your GumRevive™ session as usual. No extra steps, nothing to rinse off afterward.

Is it safe? Any allergens to flag?

External oral use only; don't swallow it, spit out any excess. Propylene glycol in the formula can cause mild irritation in sensitive users, so patch-test a small amount first if you're prone to sensitivities.

Can I start with just the device and add the Gel later?

Yes. Nothing about your device or routine changes. The Gel drops into the same session whenever you're ready.

What's the guarantee, and can I return it if I don't like it?

Opened consumables, including the Gel, are final sale for hygiene reasons and aren't eligible for a change-of-mind refund. If you use it as directed for the full recommended period and don't get the results stated on the product page, you're covered by the 30-Day Performance Promise

Ten minutes a day. Your gums do the rest.
