GumRevive's 460nm blue light sits within a wavelength range researchers have studied for activity against bacteria commonly associated with gum problems. In laboratory studies, the light affected the bacteria while showing low toxicity to surrounding human cells.
A separate clinical study also found that dentist-administered blue light, used alongside professional deep cleaning, improved several gum-health measurements.
Important: these studies support the science behind blue light, but GumRevive itself has not been tested in a clinical trial for these outcomes.

GumRevive's 620nm red light is designed to temporarily support local circulation — the FDA-recognized use under which this type of light therapy is marketed.
